X-ray equipment allows Bomb Squad technicians to x-ray suspected explosive devices to determine the most appropriate render-safe procedure. This device is key to protecting officer and public safety.
“HOT DOG” Temperature Monitor & Pager
Bomb Detection Canine Unit

A temperature monitor used inside of vehicles carrying canines. When the temperature rises above a safe level, the system automatically lowers electric windows and pages the handler.
Trauma Shooting Kits

Ongoing since 1999
Every LAPD officer is provided with a trauma shooting kit. The kits contain first-aid equipment to stanch the flow of blood following a shooting or stabbing. In 2003 an officer’s life was saved when his partner made use of both of their trauma kits after a shooting.

High quality color printer that gives the section’s Graphics Unit the capability of printing pieces larger than the 8 x 10 inch paper stock they had been limited to. It also allows Public Affairs to produce higher quality print jobs for the Department
